Every image in this book already has another life as a large scale print, but the title equally refers to my choice of creative outlet.
Photography has always been present in my life. My father had a darkroom in our apartment when I was a child, and I took over his film camera even before taking photography and darkroom classes in high school. Enthusiasm turned to compulsion when I got my first digital camera and started exploring and recording the backcountry which surrounds Vancouver and further afield.
The book represents the progression of my photography from my compulsion and cultivation, to revelation and exploration, through the process of capture and the finality of printing, and here are a few selections.
